Justin Bieber is a Canadian pop/R&B singer, songwriter and actor. Bieber was discovered in 2008 by Scooter Braun, who came across Bieber's videos on YouTube and is now his manager.

Bieber is currently signed to a recording contract with Island Records, which was offered by L.A. Reid. Bieber's debut single, "One Time", was released in 2009 and peaked in the top twenty in Canada and charted in the top thirty in several international markets. His debut album, the seven-track EP My World, followed in November 2009, and was soon certified platinum in the United States. In addition to his four awards for Choice Male Artist, Choice Single By a Male Artist (“Boyfriend”), Choice Male Music Star of the Summer and Choice Male Fashion Icon, Bieber took the stage for a medley of new cuts, “Boyfriend” and “As Long As You Love Me,” bringing out Big Sean for the latter.

“For me?” he asked after being named Choice Male Artist, adding he hoped his new album Believe was “everything that you guys waited for. I hope you guys are playing it over and over again, and this is just a reminder to everybody in here: Believe. Thank you.”

Bieber’s fellow performers last night included Carly Rae Jepsen (who scored Choice Breakout Artist), Flo Rida and No Doubt, who played their new single “Settle Down” for the first time on TV.
